Over the last 19 months, Julie Davies, Accounts Office Manager, has studied for her Level 3 Leader/Supervisor City & Guilds ILM Apprenticeship. She has recently passed with flying colours.
The course itself included covering many subjects, including;
- Knowledge and Skills
- Leading People
- Managing People
- Building Relationships
- Communication
- Operational Management
- Project Management
- Finance – Management of Self.
Julie said, “I knew I would need to dedicate a lot of time and effort to complete this course, but I am so pleased that Fire Glass gave me the opportunity as I passed my exams in April, which I am very proud of.
There were times when I was unsure of what I was letting myself in for, as getting older certainly means you have to revise a lot harder! I feel a great sense of achievement and recommend this course if you would like to develop personally.
Although I am already a Manager, I took on this apprenticeship as I always believe you can improve in anything you do. This course has given me a lot more knowledge on techniques and learning tools that I can use or adapt in the accounts department at Fire Glass UK.
I have a wonderful team who have helped me on my journey through the apprenticeship; they have stepped in when I have needed to record meetings and request feedback etc., so I would like to say a big thank you to all of them. It has been challenging at times, especially due to COVID, which has set me back about 6 months. But now it is complete; it has been worth the journey!”
Huge congratulations, Julie, such a great achievement for yourself personally and for the Company. We hope you enjoy putting some of your newfound skills to work within your department.
