Liam Fowler, Production and Transport Assistant at Fire Glass South, was nominated by Scott Knight for Employee of the Month for February. 

Scott said, “Liam has grown into his Transport and Production Assistant role over the past four months and has proved he is a polite, organised and bright individual who exhibits attention to detail for planning. He is keen to contribute new ideas regarding managing drivers and planning work for deliveries and is vocal about his thoughts and often suggests a way to improve something in the factory, These may not always be ideal or feasible, but it shows he is looking at the bigger picture of how the branch is running and we like this.

Liam has been working on a transport rota, which allows rotation of the drivers so that they all get a chance to have an early delivery run. He has also been working with production to find a more efficient way to print the loading lists using our new Fleet Wizard system, and this allows the drivers to pick glass in the same order as the delivery on the PDA.

Liam always goes out of his way to ensure customers get their glass when requested, and we have had much feedback from customers commenting on how helpful and polite Liam is. He is a positive person to work with, and although he is still adapting to his new position, he is willing to learn and improve. These skills are essential in the fast-paced transport and production department.”
