Description

Fire Glass UK Ltd is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers, suppliers, and glaziers of fire and acoustic glass, and is looking to appoint a full-time Factory Operative/ Driver at their Midlands Branch.

The job will include heavy lifting, manual handling, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

The successful applicant would also receive training in different aspects of the glass trade with the opportunity to learn a new skill set and progress within the company.

Responsibilities

Operating glass machinery and equipment, and handling glass safely and effectively

Work in line with all quality processes, conducting relevant quality checks and liaising with Supervisors and Production Managers on a daily basis to discuss quality and production targets.

Assisting with preparing glass loads for customers, supporting drivers to load or offload vehicles as necessary and ensuring correct paperwork is used/completed

Maintaining a high standard of workplace housekeeping and carrying out daily/weekly checks on equipment and machinery

Working in a controlled and safe manner in line with Health and Safety policies, wearing appropriate PPE at all times and immediately reporting defects/accidents/near misses
