Transportation, Glass Handling and Storage
Apr
2016

At Fire Glass UK we have a procedure to follow to make sure all our glass is stored and transported in the correct manor. It is important to follow these procedures as to ensures the correct rating is maintained.

Did you know?

  • Glass should always be stored in a dry, sheltered and ventilated place which is not exposed to solar radiation and on its edge
  • Soft spacers should be placed between each unit
  • Not more than 20 units per stack
  • Glass should be stored on it’s edge and supported over its full height and width
  • The back should be slightly inclined (6º to 10º from vertical) with the feet being at 90º to the back rest
  • Glass should not be in contact with anything harder than itself, eg. Concrete, stone, metals etc as this will minimise the risk of breakage and damage
  • Glass should be transported on a suitably designed vehicle and care should be taken when loading and unloading evenly

You can count on Fire Glass UK to deliver your glass in a safe and professional way.
