The new DAF rigid axle 18-tonne truck has arrived at Fire Glass UK, having just returned from our sign-writing guys at Baker Ward. 

The new 18-tonne curtain slider truck is the latest addition to our fleet, allowing us to upscale our operations by delivering more significant quantities of fire-resistant and specialist glass at one time. By helping reduce our transport costs and our road miles, lowering our pollution and carbon footprint, we will be more productive.

We are quickly outgrowing our current logistics plan, so purchasing the new truck aligns with our long-term growth plan. The DAF 18-tonne truck is the perfect choice for our bespoke delivery needs, it offers an environmentally friendly and economical design, which will help save on fuel consumption, and the cab provides a comfortable ride for our drivers.

Steve Edwards, Operations Manager, said, “We are delighted to add this truck to our fleet. It will give us much more flexibility logistically, which in turn will meet all delivery expectations. We are currently looking at adding another two trucks to the fleet this year and look forward to seeing them on the roads of the UK.”
